Carragher is a shock,but i can understand it with the injury problems england have had in the past then it makes sense to cover all the options and carragher has been a solid Premier League player

Reading the papers recently it seems that Jamie Carragher could make a shock return to the England squad, despite the fact he retired from international football years ago.

If he does get in what does that say for the likes of Michael Dawson, Ryan Shawcross and Gary Cahill (just examples) who have played so well all season only to get overlooked by Capello in favour of a man who has had his poorest season for years.

Carragher himself said when he retired that he was sick of being overlooked in favour of others but, in my opinion, he would be causing the same to happen to many other just as talented defenders.
