It was a very drab affair indeed, if only Ballack had got sent off then that might have made it a little more interesting.

I agree with the comments, Cup final day has not lost all it's magic though.

I hope Portsmouth win today – that would be the giant-killing performance of the year.

I can't see them rolling over like Wigan did against Chelsea.

The fans have been hit hardest and it would be great for them to get some consolation for being deprived of their Premiership status.  Given recent relevations about the club's debt, we may not see them pass this way again.

Play Up Pompey!

I love the FA Cup and I always will. I love the tradition and the giant killings. I mean Barnsley beating Liverpool and Chelsea in one campaign! Reading winning against Liverpool this season as well was great for the competition.

I agree that something needs to be done to improve it as not everyone is of the same opinion as me. Some of the attendances this season have been pathetic, but I don't think moving it to mid week would change that.

I do agree that changing the semi-finals to a different venue would make the final seem more special but we can thank the FA for overspending on Wembley so badly that they need to recoup as much money as possible for that poor decision.

The FA need to wake-up and smell the newly laid grass of Wembley, the FA cup has been in decline for some years and until the FA improves TV coverage, the ticket price or moves the cup to week nights it will continue to lose money and fans. They also need to strip Wembley of the semi-final games as this devalues the whole point of the final.

The FA cup has lost its charm, but it will always hold the threat of a giant killing and that alone should see the cup stay in the minds of English football fans. But it has lost its sense of tradition, but that is more down to the FA milking Wembley and their brand, more than the Cup itself. Also the TV coverage has been poor the sooner the BBC get it back the better.

Well this weekend will see the 129th FA Cup final, and while Chelsea and Pompey get ready to end the season, i want to know your thoughts on the FA Cup and its relevance in the modern game.

For me the FA Cup is all about tradition, but if were not careful like so many things the tradition could be lost as the Premier League becmoes domianted by money and European success. But I think this season has proved the FA Cup still has some life left in it and if Pompey can win on Saturday then i feel this will give the cup its much needed boost
