It'll probably come too quickly for Joe Cole, in fact he might not be the same player after his long injury. It's a shame because him and Owen Hargeaves had the potential to be important players for us in the world cup but injuries have ruined their dreams in my opinion

I hope Joe Cole doesn`t go to SA he was totally inept last night for Chelsea against Inter.

Becks is a huge blow for the squad it seems he could travel as a non playing player His experience could be key to the teams well being especially with all the off the field problems the squad has faced. Lets hope the key players stay fit and we might actually have a chance of winning this one.

Beckham's the only one who might have gone so I don't see a real problem. I would have taken him as he offers something to the rest of the country's wingers.

Owen had absolutely no chance of going, he wasn't playing and was only rarely scoring and Brown has been injured too much recently to be picked unless we have a major injury crisis.

I'm guessing that this has confirmed Wright-Phillips' place on the plane now with Walcott. Though still don't rule Lennon out if he gets himself fit

Becks was a must even just for his attitude and the way he trains. Its sad but it looks like it has happended  again lets just hope Rooney stays fit. Owen had no chance anyway as to with brown. But it does look like young or cole will be on the plane. Lets just hope Rooney stays fit and keeps out of trouble

I would't have taken Beckham, Owen or Brown.  This has reduced Fab's options but not seriously.

His sqaud selection has been made easier for him by the fickle finger of fate.

It was MOTD2 that brought the chilling news that David Beckham has snapped his Achilles tendon and will miss the World Cup. Add that to Owen and Wes Brown being injured are England doomed to fail again in South Africa. It is a squad that wins the World Cup and not just a starting 11 and a few subs. Beckham proved on weds night in the Champions League how good he is and that he has still things to offer. Your thoughts please on the Beckham injury, and possible replacements for him in the squad.Cry
